Planet Blue Closing All Stores Amid Pandemic

Planet Blue announced this month that it will close all of its stores.

VENICE, CA — All Planet Blue stores are closing in Southern California, the beach boutique known for boho and glam California looks announced this month.

Planet Blue has several stores in Southern California:

  • Planet Blue Venice - 2940 Main St., Venice
  • Planet Blue Santa Monica - 800 14th St., Santa Monica
  • Planet Blue Newport Beach - Lido Marina Village, 3412 Via Oporto
  • Planet Blue South Bay - The Point, 840 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Suite B102
  • Planet Blue Malibu - Malibu Country Mart, 3835 Cross Creek Rd.
  • Planet Blue Beverly Hills - 409 N Beverly Dr., Beverly Hills

Planet Blue is one of several local retailers closing along Main Street in Santa Monica and Venice. The LA apparel company launched in 1995 with its first boutique in Malibu.

Starbucks and MUJI, including other longtime local businesses along Main Street in Dogtown, have closed during the pandemic.

In August, surf and skate shop ZJ Boarding House closed after 32 years in Santa Monica. And after 41 years in the city, Enterprise Fish Co. has decided to leave its Ocean Park location.
