Man Killed In Police Shooting In West Los Angeles

A man died in a fatal police shooting in the West Los Angeles area early Monday, authorities said.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man died in a shooting involving a police officer early Monday in West Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The officer-involved shooting happened about 5:55 a.m. in the 3700 block of Barry Avenue, near Venice Boulevard, a Los Angeles Police Department dispatcher told Patch.

Patch asked the department for additional information. A public information officer was en route to the investigation area.

Information was not immediately available on the identity of the fatally wounded man.

It's unclear what caused the shooting. No officers were injured.
