Police Use PIT Maneuver To End Chase In Westside

A reckless-driving and possible DUI suspect led police on a chase across freeways and major streets Tuesday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A reckless-driving and possible DUI suspect led authorities on a chase from the Paramount area to Westchester Tuesday, where police used a PIT maneuver to bring his disabled vehicle to a stop.

The approximately one-hour chase ended about 12:15 p.m. on Lincoln Boulevard south of Jefferson Boulevard, where a California Highway Patrol officer in an SUV used a PIT maneuver to spin the Ford Focus and bring the hatchback to a stop.

The car's front driver's side tire had early come off of the vehicle, leaving the suspect driving on three tires and a metal rim.
