The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power does not know when power will be restored.

By City News Service

It's unclear when power will be restored to nearly 1,400 customers in Venice.

The outage, affecting 1,397 customers, was reported at 4:45 p.m., impacting an area bounded by Vienna Way on the north, Walgrove Avenue on the east, Princeton Drive on the south and Oxford Avenue on the west, said Los Angeles Department of Water and Power spokeswoman Mary Ann Pierson.

She said the outage was caused by some sort of "overhead circuit failure," but could not confirm whether it was triggered by a toppled palm tree.

Pierson had no estimate regarding how long repairs would take.
