Search For Swimmers Near Venice Pier Called Off
Lifeguards called off a search for distressed swimmers near the Venice Pier Tuesday night. No simmers have been reported missing.

VENICE, CA — Lifeguards and firefighters searched the water near the Venice Pier after two swimmers were reported to be in distress but called off the operation after finding no sign of possible victims.
The swimmers were reported to be in trouble about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which sent a helicopter to the location to assist lifeguards in boats and crews on shore in the search.
The search was called off Tuesday night after no victims were found, authorities said.
