Two Venice Restaurants Named 'Coolest in Town'

Two Venice restaurants have made Thrillist's list of "The Coolest Bars and Restaurants in Town."

Superba Snack Bar, 533 Rose Ave., and South End, 2805 Abbot Kinney Blvd., reside on a list that includes Water Grill and 41 Ocean in Santa Monica. Other nearby eateries named to the list are Public School 310, Daikokuya and The Corner Door.

Superba comes with notable names at the helm: Pitfire Pizza's owner and Osteria La Buca's old chef, according to Thrillist.com. The pizza joint South End is "headed by a kitchen-man who did lots of time as the chef de cuisine at the different Mozzas, meaning he knows pie almost as intimately as Jason Biggs," according to thrillist.com writer Jeff Miller.
