Venice YAS Fitness Center to Take Part in 'Think Cure' Fundraiser

On June 23, more than 170 dedicated spinners from across Los Angeles including those in Venice, will jump on their spinning ® bikes for the fourth annual YAS-A-THON.

On June 23, more than 170 dedicated spinners from across Los Angeles and Orange County will jump on their spinning ® bikes for the fourth annual YAS-A-THON, a three-hour ride that will help raise over a quarter million life-altering dollars for ThinkCure!

The Sunday spin session will begin at 1pm at all four of the YAS locations including in Venice. The other three participating centers are in Silverlake, Costa Mesa and Downtown Los Angeles.

The non-profit organization has contributed $1.7 million to fund innovative cancer research projects at City of Hope and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles since 2007.

Sponsored by the YAS Fitness Centers, the weekend of events will also include a silent auction to raise additional funds on the night of June 22nd.  Each rider has raised or contributed a minimum of $1,500.

Registration for riders maxed out earlier than ever before at 170 participants, but organizers are still recruiting new sponsors and kick-off party attendees. Last year, the YAS-A-THON raised $197,000 for ThinkCure!.
The money raised during the YAS-ATHON will go directly to funding cutting-edge research focused on new, effective treatments for a range of cancers including brain cancer, leukemia and lymphoma.
“I am honored that so many people are riding with us on June 23rd and working so hard to help raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer research and ThinkCure!, an organization close to my heart,” said YAS founder Kimberly Fowler, a brain cancer survivor, in an official statement. “There are so many ways for the community to support our fundraising efforts – sponsor a rider, join us at the silent auction and bid on some of our great prizes, or simply make a donation to ThinkCure! We appreciate every bit of help,” she said.

The YAS-A-THON has attracted a number of sponsors for the weekend event including the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, Smartwater, James Beach, Zico, Kind Bars, Avion Tequila, Ninkasi Brewery, BluePrintCleanse, Demalogica, Lenny & Larry’s Healthy Snacks, Jo-Sha Wipes and Sinners & Saints Bakery.
