Bank Robber Sought By Walnut Creek Police

A bank robbery was reported at 11:39 a.m. Saturday at a bank in Downtown Walnut Creek, police said.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A man is sought for robbing a Walnut Creek bank Saturday of an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

An investigation was continuing Monday into the robbery that took place at 11:39 a.m. Saturday at the PNC Bank, 1101 S. California Blvd. in Downtown Walnut Creek.

Officers were dispatched to the bank when the Walnut Creek Police Department received a report of a hold-up alarm. Officers quickly determined a bank robbery had occurred in which the suspect passed a note demanding money and stating he had a gun, Walnut Creek police Lt. Ryan Hibbs said.

An extensive search was conducted in the area but the suspect was not located. It is believed the robber left the area prior to police arrival, Hibbs said.

The suspect was described as a white man between 6 feet 1 and 6 feet 2 inches tall, 180-200 pounds wearing a black knitted cap, a white face mask, sunglasses, a black jacket, light-colored pants, and white and blue shoes. Police did not share a surveillance image of the suspect.

There were no injuries reported in the bank robbery.

Police do not know how much money the robber made off with.
