Central San Welcomes Florence Wedington To Board Of Directors
Wedington, a Walnut Creek resident, was sworn into office as the board member for District 3.

CENTRAL CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Walnut Creek resident Florence Wedington was welcomed this week by the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District — Central San — as the newest member of its Board of Directors, the agency announced.
Wedington was sworn into office Wednesday following her appointment by the Board to fill a vacancy in Division 3.
The seat, which represents the Walnut Creek area, was vacant following the passing in March of longtime Board Member David R. Williams.

Wedington is a registered professional civil engineer with over 30 years of experience in the wastewater, recycled water and water industries in both the private and public sectors. Currently, she is a senior civil engineer at East Bay Municipal Utility District where she leads the Office of Water Recycling and manages a $100 million five-year capital budget.
Wedington served as secretary of the WateReuse Association Northern California Chapter and is a past president of the California Water Environment Association San Francisco Bay Section.

She earned a bachelor degree in civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and has been a Walnut Creek resident since 1990.
Central San provides nearly 500,000 residents and over 3,000 businesses across 146 square miles in the East San Francisco Bay Area with wastewater collection, cleaning and disposal. It also operates a household hazardous waste collection facility, provides recycled water for landscape irrigation and industrial use, and promotes pollution prevention.
