Meals On Wheels Diablo Region Headquarters Up For Sale
The organization has been working out of a temporary office since the building in Walnut Creek was damaged in a fire.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Meals on Wheels is putting its Diablo Region headquarters building in Walnut Creek up for sale, the organization announced.
The building at 1300 Civic Drive can no longer accommodate the organization, which has added staff and anticipates growing in the future, David Linnell, the Diablo Region's executive director, said in a statement.
"Meals on Wheels Diablo Region continues to see a greater demand for our delivered meals and services as the aging population increases significantly," Linnell said.

The organization has been operating out of temporary office space on North Main Street ever since the headquarters building was damaged in a 2022 fire. The headquarters building has been sitting vacant while Meals on Wheels conducted what the organization described in a press release as "lengthy and protracted settlement negotiations with the insurance company."
A settlement has been reached, the organization said, and its board of directors has decided to list the building for sale.

Meals on Wheels Diablo Region will continue to operate from its temporary office space while it searches for a permanent location in the area, the organization said.
"Meals on Wheels Diablo Region is proud that during COVID and again after the fire, no senior missed a delivered meal or service," Linnell said. "The community and our seniors can be assured that while our headquarters are for sale, no senior will be impacted and we will continue to fulfill our mission to keep our older neighbors nourished, safe, less isolated, and independent."
