WALNUT CREEK, CA — Community members can expect multiple traffic restrictions during April and May during the Ygnacio Valley Road Base Failure Repairs & Restriping Project.
Crews began marking pavement repair within the project area along Ygnacio Valley Road, which is mostly from San Carlos Drive to the Concord city limits.
"Please be advised that there may be multiple traffic restrictions along Ygnacio Valley Road and some connector roads as necessary for traffic safety," City Manager Dan Buckshi said in a community update for April. "Lane closures could shift depending on work needs throughout the progression of construction activities."

The project affects both eastbound and westbound lanes. Most of the work will take place overnight, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Precise dates and times will be displayed on message boards along Ygnacio Valley Road.

Drivers can expect periodic delays of 5-10 minutes. Travel will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. Road closures with detours are also possible. Barricades and signs will be posted at construction zones to guide drivers during work hours. Flaggers will direct traffic when necessary.
