'Unprecedented' $137.9M Raised For Cancer Care At John Muir Health
The fundraiser surpassed its $100 million goal and became the largest philanthropic campaign ever recorded in Contra Costa County.
WALNUT CREEK, CA —The John Muir Health Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports John Muir Health, announced the successful conclusion Monday of its Campaign to Conquer Cancer.
The campaign surpassed its ambitious $100 million goal and achieved a record-breaking fundraising total—the largest philanthropic campaign ever recorded in Contra Costa County. An unprecedented $137.9 million was raised thanks to the "extraordinary generosity, vision and commitment of donors," the John Muir Health Foundation said.
The funding ensures patients have access to cancer care close to home. Proceeds also directly supported the development of UCSF-John Muir Health Jean and Ken Hofmann Cancer Center locations not only at the Behring Pavilion in Walnut Creek but also in the cities of Brentwood, Concord, Pleasanton, San Ramon and Vallejo.
