Walnut Creek Plans To Honor Local Heroes

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Who do you consider a hero in Walnut Creek? A doctor or nurse who worked tirelessly with COVID patients? Or perhaps a neighbor who brought groceries to the elderly during the mandatory shelter-in-place?

Mayor Kevin Wilk would like to recognize local heroes.

Every other month, the City will open a brief nomination period, and nominees will be screened by a panel of community members. Finalists will be recognized by the Mayor at a City Council meeting, in a video, on the City website, and social media.
