Woman's Body Found in West Hollywood

It was not immediately clear if the woman met with foul play or how long she has been dead.

West Hollywood, CA — Los Angeles County Sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in West Hollywood on Wednesday.

The body was discovered shortly before noon in the 8700 block of Beverly Boulevard, Sheriff's Information Bureau Dep. Ryan Rouzan said.

The victim, described as an adult woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

No other information was available at this time as the investigation was ongoing, Rouzan said.

"We are working to find out, first of all, who this person is, and secondly, how she died," sheriff's Sgt. Marcelo Quintero told reporters at the scene behind the former Jerry's Famous Deli. "We ... have people who either are homeless or in some sort of transient conditions that use this place to sleep here at night."

A person walked into the West Hollywood sheriff's station and reported that a body might be located in a trash bin in the area and deputies fanned out and located the body, which was covered in some sort of blanket, according to reports from the scene.

It was not immediately clear if the woman met with foul play or how long she has been dead.
