LAPD Seeks Victims in Sex Assaults of Korean Models

Suspect places advertisements for models, coerces them to perform sexual acts and threatens deportation if they do not comply.

Los Angeles police Wednesday released the name and picture of a man suspected of preying on young Korean born women who want to model, assaulting them and threatening them with deportation if they do not comply.

According to police Jung Park placed adverts for models and then when he met one women, he allegedly coerced her to perform sexual acts, threatening to call immigration if she refused.

Park is suspected of meeting with an alleged victim about 1 p.m. Oct. 26, having placed an ad for body paint models, police said.

He asked the victim to disrobe and pose nude for photos, officials said.

Park then began to inappropriately touch the victim and he attempted to rape her, police said.

As she refused his sexual advances, he threatened to report her to Immigration and Naturalization Services. Several victims have come forward and reported similar experiences with Park during photo sessions and interviews at his place of business, according to police.

Investigators are asking for any additional victims who responded to these advertisements to come forward. These advertisements were listed in Korean newspapers, websites and radio stations, and were run by Simple Touch Entertainment.

Park is described as a 41-year-old Korean male who stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.
