The investigation began in 2015, according to Claremont PD.

"Officers responded to a call regarding a 15-year-old female student seen leaving a school campus with an adult male and was later seen being dropped off by the same man," Hardin said. "The man left prior to the officers being called, but officers were able to speak with the 15-year-old student and learned that the student had left the campus with a man she had met on the Internet."

Detectives examined the student’s cell phone and discovered communication between the 15-year-old student and the male adult discussing sex acts that had taken place between the two of them.

At that time, detectives wrote multiple warrants and were able to identify a possible suspect.

"In October of 2015, a search warrant was served at the suspect’s residence in West Hills," Hardin said. "Anderson was arrested and during a search of his room, several phones, computers, and electronic storage devices were seized."

Anderson was transported to the Claremont Police Department jail where he was booked and he was later released from jail after posting bail.

"Detectives then began the lengthy process of examining all of Anderson’s phones, computers, and electronic storage devices that were seized during the search warrant," Hardin said.

According to police, this process took an extended period of time due to Anderson having over 10 terabytes worth of data on these devices, which contained one of the largest collections of pornography and child pornography that both Claremont Detectives and assisting LASD Detectives had encountered in their careers, Hardin said.

During the investigation, Detectives uncovered a possible second victim while examining Anderson’s phone.

"This new information led Detectives to the City of Long Beach, where they located a second victim," Hardin said. "She was a 13-year-old junior high student and Detectives learned that she had also had a sexual relationship with Anderson."

The investigation was submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review and the District Attorney’s Office filed nine felony counts against Anderson for sex acts with minors and possession of child pornography.

"A warrant was issued for Anderson’s arrest and for the last four months, Detectives have been on the hunt for Anderson," Hardin said.

On Jan. 31, 2017, Claremont Police Detectives located Anderson in West Hollywood and he was arrested.

Anderson is currently in custody, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Feb. 15. He is being held with a bail amount of $390,000.

If convicted on all charges, Anderson could face up to over 30 years in state prison.
