Man Complains To Woman About Cell Phone Light During Movie, Gets Maced
Witnesses said the woman stood and, after a brief exchange, maced the victim.
A man at a movie screening was maced by a woman after he complained about the light from her cellphone, it was reported today.
The incident occurred during a Monday afternoon screening of the historical drama “Mr Turner” at the TCL Chinese Theatre complex in the 6900 block of Hollywood Boulevard, Daily Variety reported.
Witnesses told the entertainment trade publication the man, who was seated behind the woman, repeatedly asked her to switch her cellphone off, then tapped her on the shoulder and made the request again.

The woman then stood up, the witnesses said, and after a brief exchange, maced the man, before sitting back down.
The victim and his girlfriend left the cinema, Daily Variety reported, and the woman was removed by venue security about 15 minutes later.

The details were confirmed by Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Titus Tyler, who said police were not informed of the altercation until hours later.
“It looks like it was resolved at the scene,” Tyler said.
