One Directioner Liam Payne had Shooting Scare at West Hollywood Club

The boy-band singer was at The Peppermint Club when a man fired several rounds into the air outside in the parking lot.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA -- Liam Payne, part of the boy band, One Direction, had a scare this weekend when a gunman opened fire at a West Hollywood club, according to TMZ.

Payne and a slew of partiers were at The Peppermint Club, a club popular with celebrities, when a man who tried to get into the venue with a fake ID opened fire.

According to the gossip website, the man tussled with security and made his way into the parking lot and fire a few shots into the air outside the club.

The man escaped and is still on the loose. Authorities found multiple shell casings when they arrived, according to TMZ.

Several clubgoers inside heard the shot and were alarmed, according to the TMZ. One woman tweeted, "Shooting @ the peppermint club. I'm f---ing shaking right now."

Payne, who is expecting his first child with girlfriend Cheryl Cole, left the club about 30 minutes later, according to TMZ.
