Under New Ownership, V Wine Room in West Hollywood Has Become a Vibe

Adam Garvey took over ownership in March and has been making changes to elevate the customer experience at the 12-year-old wine bar.

It's a new era at V Wine Room, the hidden gem quietly nestled in the heart of West Hollywood for the last dozen years.

Adam Garvey, who has spent his career in the luxury car trade, has made the switch to his other passion, wine, taking over ownership of the establishment.

"I have loved and been a regular patron of V Wine Room for over 10 years. I always cherished the charm, uniqueness and sense of community the bar provides," Garvey said. "My two passions in life have always been cars and wine. After an expansive career in the luxury automotive business, I decided it was time to follow my other passion and I purchased V Wine Room."

Since Garvey took over the space, it has been revamped including a full repaint, new artwork, new lighting, new wine and food offerings, the addition of candles and other small details focused on the senses. When inside you feel taken into a more peaceful world, far away from the loud music and bustle just a few blocks west. Garvey said he hopes customers find the place to be a gathering spot.

"V has always been a safe place where people can be comfortable being themselves. The sense of community is unrivaled," Garvey commented. "I always refer back to the old Cheers theme song, 'sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name.' The space is intimate and provides the perfect environment for a beautiful date, a place to grab a glass of wine by yourself or enjoy a great time with friends."

Of note, V Wine Room is the only true wine bar in West Hollywood right now.

"We have a selection of over 30 wines by the glass and an equally extensive selection by the bottle. Our building is drenched in deep Hollywood history originally serving as Charlie Chaplin’s dance studio and later as a library for the unincorporated area of Los Angeles then known as Sherman, before it became the City of West Hollywood," Garvey said. "We offer, unbiasedly, some of the best pizzas and cheese/charcuterie boards in the area in addition to speciality chocolates, tinned fish and sushi from our neighbor, Jinpachi Sushi. And our top-notch sake pairs perfectly with our food options." See the menu here.

The new proprietor is also keeping in mind that sometimes people do want to look up at a TV, and as such, they recently installed a big screen television.

"We are definitely not a TV bar. But we are a great place to watch all of those must-see events that no one misses," Garvey said. "We also host wine tastings, sake tastings and meet the artist events. Most of our artwork is available for sale."

V Wine Room is located at 903 Westbourne Drive, just north of Santa Monica Boulevard. In addition to wine and sake, they will soon be adding beer and coffee with earlier opening hours for people who work from home and desire a change of scenery. They are also actively taking reservations for full buyouts for special events and holiday parties. Get your party confirmed while you can.
