Vote for your choice of "People's Best New Chef" nationwide before March 18.
“Have you ever felt as if a restaurant was just waiting for you to walk into it?” remarked renowned food critic Jonathan Gold in a 2011 LA Weekly article.
The restaurant in question was Night + Market, which Gold referred to as “a homegrown Thai street-food emporium” attached to the well-known Talésai restaurant. The foodie added that he had initially been dismissive of Night + Market “as a tired gimmick when it opened late last year, an attempt to cash in on the gastropub thing booming in local restaurants at the moment.”
But the hip Weho restaurant’s name kept popping up in conversations and on local food blogs, prompting Gold to make a visit that won over both his stomach and his heart.
