West Hollywood to Offer Free Shuttle Service on New Year's Eve

The route will be identical to the popular free weekend shuttle, The PickUp.

The following is from the City of West Hollywood:

Leave the car keys at home and stay local this New Year’s Eve! The City of West Hollywood will provide free shuttle service on Tuesday, December 31. Service will begin at 9:00 p.m. and shuttles will run until 2:00 a.m. – shuttles will operate approximately every 15 minutes.

The route for New Year’s Eve shuttle service will be identical to the route for the City’s popular free weekend shuttle, The PickUp, which runs along Santa Monica Boulevard in a four-mile loop with 10 stops in each direction between Robertson Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. Shuttle stops connect to the following Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) bus lines: 105, 705, 4, 704, 217 and 218.

For people who wish to drive/park/shuttle to their West Hollywood destination on New Year’s Eve, there are two public pay parking lots that are located just steps away from the Santa Monica Boulevard route: Hancock Parking Structure at 901 Hancock Avenue; Kings Road Municipal Parking Structure at 8383 Santa Monica Boulevard.

Additional pay parking will be available at the Pacific Design Center located on the northeast corner of San Vicente Boulevard and Melrose Avenue (8687 Melrose Avenue) and at West Hollywood Library’s five-story public parking structure, 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.

The City of West Hollywood reminds people: Don’t Drink and Drive. Even one drink can impair judgment and increase the risk of getting arrested for driving drunk – or worse, the risk of having a crash while driving. If you have been drinking, do not drive. Use the City’s New Year’s Eve shuttle service, call a taxi, call a sober friend or family member, or use public transportation.
