West Hollywood Wins Five National Communications Awards
The awards recognize the communications and outreach efforts of local governments throughout the United States.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — The city of West Hollywood took home five awards at the City-County Communications and Marketing Association in San Antonio, Texas earlier this month.
The awards recognize the communications and outreach efforts of local governments throughout the United States.
The city took home first place in the printed publication/advertising category for its "Keep it Dirty" water-conservation campaign. The campaign features four distinct ads to encourage residents to use less water.

West Hollywood also won second place for in the most innovative category for its "Get Out the Vote" video. The video was developed to encourage voter turnout in a 2015 special municipal election, and features YouTube star Todrick Hall and dozens of local dancers who reference Wizard of Oz characters, set to a parody tune of the hit song "Pretty Girls" by Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea. The video, to date, has received more than 1.65-million views.
The city's Emmy Award-winning Game of Thrones-themed drought PSA won second place in the TV and video public service announcement category. The city's Communications and Community Engagement Strategic Plan was also recognized with two first-place honors, in the categories of communication or marketing plans, and printed publications/other.
