Large Hole Shuts Down Topanga Canyon Boulevard
The line break that opened up a hole was reported at 9:40 a.m.

A water main break in Woodland Hills on Saturday caused street flooding and opened up a hole that shut down a busy thoroughfare, authorities said.
Southbound Topanga Canyon Boulevard was shut down from Victory Boulevard south to Oxnard Street, next to several major malls and other businesses.
The break in an 8-inch line was reported at 9:40 a.m. at 6325 Topanga Canyon Blvd. It knocked out service to three commercial customers, said Terry Schneider of the Department of Water and Power.

Crews were on scene making repairs to the line, and it was estimated that service would be restored by around 5 p.m., she said.
Once the line is repaired, a city Bureau of Street Services crew will complete roadway repairs and reopen the boulevard, Schneider said.
