Neighborhood Council to Discuss Empty Schools
The council will also discuss the appointment of a strategic plan committee.

At its Wednesday meeting, the Woodland Hills-Warner Center Neighborhood Council will discuss empty school campuses as well as a strategic plan, mural regulation and more.
Los Angeles Unified School District Board members Tamara Galatzan and Steve Zimmer will give a presentation and lead a Q&A regarding the leasing of vacant Woodland Hills schools.
As well, the Planning and Land Use Management, or PLUM, committee will give a recommendation regarding murals. The City Attorney has prepared an ordinance with two options: One allows murals on single-family residences and the other allows communities a method to opt-out. The ordinance is scheduled for hearing on August 20, 2013 in City Council.
The council will also decide whether Chairman Scott Silverstein may appoint an ad-hoc committee to work with the council officers to draft and submit a strategic plan to Empower LA, the city department that oversees neighborhood councils.
The meeting takes place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Church, 5700 Rudnick Ave. and is open to the public.
