West Hills Student Participates in Seattle Service Celebration
Amit Dodani, founder of My Name My Story, joined 15,000 other young people for We Day.
A little more than a year ago Amit Dodani created a website where young people can share their stories and be heard.
Now, at 15, the West Hills boy, a sophomore at Chaminade College Preparatory High School, is the leader of a growing movement, with his idea having spread to schools and touching youth in a new way.
Dodani receives thanks from other young people who "don't feel worthless anymore," as one visitor to his My Name My Story website wrote.

“That’s what it’s all about,” Dodani said. “If somehow, somewhere, this organization could save one Columbine from happening, because one person felt heard…it will all be worth it.”
He was recently honored for his work by being included in the first U.S. We Day in Seattle. Over the weekend, more than 15,000 young people gathered for the celebration of the power of youth to make a difference.
