Broomfield HS Students Recognized As National Merit Semifinalists
Four seniors from the Class of 2019 were among 221 in Colorado to receive the award.

BROOMFIELD, CO – Four students from the Class of 2019 attending Broomfield-area high schools were recognized as National Merit Semifinalists.
The honored students were:
- Shu Yuh Nyeo, Broomfield High School
- Tycho L. Cinquini, Legacy High School
- Sophia Rae Winker, Legacy High School
- Julia R. Stowell, Prospect Ridge Academy High School
A total of 221 students in Colorado were among the 16,000 chosen who scored high enough on the National Merit exam to make the semifinal round. About 3 percent of eligible students are invited to submit an application to earn "finalist status," the National Merit Corporation said in a press release. Finalists are eligible for various scholarships and awards.
