High Wind Warning Issued For West Broomfield

Wind could gust up to 75 mph Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

BROOMFIELD, CO — The National Weather Service has issued high wind warning for west Broomfield and other Front Range regions. The warning will be in effect from 9 p.m. Friday until 9 p.m. Saturday.

Northwest wind is expected to gust between 30 and 40 mph, but some gusts could reach up to 75 mph, weather officials said.

"Strong winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," the weather alert reads. "Travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles."

The strong wind may lead to property damage, weather officials said.

"Hazardous driving conditions due to powerful cross winds will pose a serious risk for drivers, especially for light weight and high profile vehicles," the warning read. "Loose outdoor items should be brought inside or secured properly."

The wind warning was also issued to Jefferson and Boulder counties. The advisory's list of cities includes Boulder, Arvada, Lakewood, Golden, Fort Collins, Hereford and Longmont.

A separate high wind watch, which takes effect at 8 a.m. Saturday, was issued to Denver, Aurora, Brighton, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Parker and more than a dozen other cities.
