1 Killed In Plane Crash Near Rocky Mountain National Airport
A small plane crashed near Interlocken in Broomfield, North Metro Fire Rescue said.
BROOMFIELD — One person died after a small plane crashed Wednesday afternoon near the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, fire officials said.
The aircraft crashed near Interlocken Loop and Eldorado Boulevard, according to North Metro Fire Rescue.
Someone called 911 at 12:34 p.m. and reported the downed plane, the agency said.

"There was a fire that resulted from the plane crash that was extinguished," North Metro Fire said in a tweet posted at 1:52 p.m.
The aircraft was a small, single-engine plane, according to fire officials.

The identity of the person who died in the crash has not been released.
It was unclear whether any others were on board.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were investigating the cause of the crash, officials said.
