Alpine Maids, raising money for National Stroke Awareness Month

Alpine Maids is pleased to announce its participation in the Denver Heart Walk, a fundraiser in support of Stroke Awareness Month.

The residential cleaning company will be accepting donations for their two teams participating in the walk on June 21st at Sloan’s Lake. Denver area residents are encouraged to donate money to either the Clean Beats team or the Care Walkers team, and Alpine Maids will match the first $500 in donations. In addition to the team donation, Alpine Maids will also donate a dollar for every new follow to the cleaning company's Facebook or Instagram page.

Alpine Maid’s fundraising efforts are being spearheaded by Rose Ramirez, an employee at the company who had a stroke at 21, and was able to make a nearly complete recovery thanks to the fast and quality medical care she received.

Ramirez said becoming a stroke survivor motivated her to do more to raise awareness and give back to other survivors.

“I had a stroke at a really young age, and it impacted my life in ways people can’t imagine,” Ramirez said. “I am now in a position to raise awareness and be there for other stroke survivors.”

Chris Willatt is the Owner of Alpine Maids, and, like Ramirez, signal boosting Stroke Awareness Month is personal for him.

“This fight is personal to me because of Rose’s story and because my mother suffers from stroke-induced dementia,” Willatt said. “The risk of stroke is real, and one can be prevented if people are given the knowledge and resources to get ahead of it.”
