Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to highlight young people achieving great things in our community.

The future of Golden is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Camden Dempsey, who are making a positive impact in and around Golden.
Camden Dempsey, a 2021 graduate of nearby Lakewood High School and current senior at the University of Colorado Boulder, is an inspiring student-athlete and leader whose achievements span academics, athletics, and service.
For his Eagle Scout project, Camden led an extraordinary international initiative from 2016 to 2018, raising over $23,000 and coordinating a team of 34 volunteers from the U.S. and China to plant 100 trees in Inner Mongolia in partnership with The Nature Conservancy. The project not only created ecological benefits but also fostered cultural exchange, resulting in 2,196 total service hours, of which Camden personally contributed 1,008. His efforts were supported by organizations such as the Rotary Club of Golden and private equity firm Warburg Pincus after a successful interview in Beijing.

At CU Boulder, Camden continues to excel as a Finance and Marketing major with a Leadership Studies minor and a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Studies. A Presidents Leadership Class scholar and Boettcher Scholar, Camden balances his rigorous academic pursuits with his role as a dedicated member of the CU football team, where he is known by his teammates as “the governor” for his integrity, reliability, and leadership. Transitioning from lineman to snapper, Camden’s work ethic and commitment have made him a cornerstone of the team. Beyond the field, he serves on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the PAC-12 SALT, advocating for inclusivity and enhancing the athletic community.
Camden’s leadership philosophy centers on empowering others and staying true to his values. Described by peers as “the embodiment of the Colorado Creed,” Camden exemplifies integrity, humility, and selflessness, leaving every community he touches better than he found it.
