Join us for Arapahoe County’s inaugural 5K TRAIL WALK/RUN SERIES celebrating Open Spaces, fitness and good health, and our thriving local trail system. We’ll have prizes and free swag, vendors and a hot pancake breakfast at the finish line! All ages are welcome. You can also sign up for our virtual race and walk/run the trails on your own time!

LOCATION: Richmil Ranch

Deer Trail, CO 80105
COURSE: The traffic-free 3.1 mile course will be held along the soft-surfaced trail at Richmil Ranch. The Open Space property features sweeping views of the Eastern Plains, preserved natural habitat, and abundant wildlife and native plant species.
REGISTRATION FEE:
- In-Person $30; Virtual $20
Registration includes a free t-shirt and race bib, swag from race sponsors, pancake breakfast, and commemorative medal for in-person participants!

- Strollers and dogs are welcome
- This is a fun run and will not be professionally timed

- Saturday, April 10 - Arapahoe County Fairgrounds and Park
- Saturday, June 12—17 Mile House Farm Park
- Saturday, Aug. 14—Richmil Ranch Open Space
- Saturday, Oct. 9—High Line Canal

Pick up walk/run participant items and swag bag Friday before the race at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds office (25690 E. Quincy Ave. Aurora, CO 80016). OR pick up your walk/run participant items and swag bag on 5K Day starting at 7:15 a.m. at walk/run check-in. Run/walkers will get a packet of information emailed to them a week before the Trail Walk/Run in addition to the items to be picked up.
Virtual walk/runners will get the same packet of information that in-person walk/runners receive. Virtual walk/runner will have to pick up their walk/run packets in person, please email lbagby@arapahoegov.com for any questions. However virtual participants will be allowed to complete their 5K on their own timeline between August 1 - August 15, 2021. We ask that the virtual participants use an Arapahoe County Open Spaces Trail and support our beautiful open spaces. See more Open Spaces Properties and Trails at www.arapahoegov.com/openspaces
About Richmil Ranch Open Space
Richmil Ranch Open Space preserves excellent habitat that supports abundant wildlife and plant species, and offers outdoor recreational opportunities that are in growing demand on the County's eastern plains.
The Open Space boasts sweeping views of the eastern plains. East Bijou Creek runs seasonally through the property. The site is home to mule deer, white-tailed deer, pronghorn, wild turkey, migratory birds and a variety of small mammals, reptiles and amphibians.

If you do not register by Thursday, August 12th please join us on August 14 at Richmil Ranch (77910 E. Highway 40
Deer Trail, CO 80105) by 7:30am, please bring cash in the amount of $30 to sign up on site. Run/Walk will begin promtley at 8:00am.
