Broken Gas Line Evacuates Moody Elementary In Littleton
Students got out early Friday after emergency responders and Xcel Energy workers cleared the school and sent them to a park.

LITTLETON, CO – Students at Moody Elementary in Littleton were evacuated Friday as a precaution after a broken gas line was discovered by Xcel energy and emergency workers were called in from Littleton Fire and Rescue.
The gas line break was discovered around 1:50 p.m. near South Windermere Street and West Weaver Avenue. Students from Moody were taken to Angeline Little Greenway Park at Peakview Avenue and Gallup Street, where bus service was diverted. Parents were also able to pick up children from the park.
By 3 p.m., Littleton Fire and Rescue tweeted that the natural gas leak had been clamped and emergency crews were cleaning up the scene.
