Former GOP Gov. Candidate Doug Robinson Forms New Business
Robinson is partnering with Littleton-based Ogden Ventures in a new firm that seeks to acquire successful smaller businesses.

LITTLETON, CO – Doug Robinson, Colorado businessman and former GOP primary candidate for Colorado governor announced a new business venture.
Robinson and principles of Littleton-based Ogdon Ventures, a family-run private equity firm, announced the launch of Dry Fly Capital Wednesday. The company will buy up "legacy companies in the lower middle market that have multiple years of [positive net earnings]," according to a press release.
Robinson served for 27 years as Managing Director of KPMG Corporate Finance and KeyBanc Capital Markets and as Head of Equities and Corporate Finance at Hanifen Imhoff, the new company said in a press release.

Robinson came in last among four candidates who ran for the Republican primary in Colorado on June 26, winning 8.92 percent of the vote. Walker Stapleton was the winner of that contest and faces Democrat Jared Polis in the Nov. 6 mid-term election.
Ogdon Ventures is made up of Bob, Dan and Mike Ogdon, owners of companies Swiftpage and Act!

"Doug has been an integral part in the sale of my businesses and we met when he advised me through the sale of Mammoth Micro Productions to the Washington Post in 1994," says Bob Ogdon, the new company's managing partner.
Ogdon Ventures recently acquired Westland Distributing, Arizona Home Supply and Nevada Home Supply to create a mega manufactured housing supplies distributor in the West. The company also acquired AiA Industries, a "structural and custom dome skylight manufacturer and plastics fabricator," according to a press release.
"Bob, Dan and Mike have been friends for a long time and I'm excited for what we can accomplish together," said Robinson in a statement. "We see a lot of opportunity within the sphere of our investment criteria and look forward to finding companies ready for the expansion of their legacy."
