Sex With Husky Case: Aurora Man Gets 6 Months, Dog Euthanized
Frederick Manzanares, 51, was sentenced for animal abuse for engaging in sex acts with Bubba, the husky who was euthanized Tuesday.
CENTENNIAL, CO – An Aurora man accused of training a dog to engage in sex acts was sentenced Tuesday. The dog will be put down because it has become aggressive, the court said.
An Arapahoe County judge sentenced Frederick Manzanares, 51, to six months in jail and two years of supervised probation. Manzanares pleaded guilty in September to two counts of misdemeanor animal abuse.
Bubba, the Akita mix being held in the Aurora Animal Shelter was euthanized, Arapahoe County Deputy District Attorney Amy Ferrin said, according to reporting in the Denver Post.

“This dog cannot safely be adopted,” Judge Cheryl Rowles-Stokes said “This dog cannot safely be transferred ... This dog cannot recover,” the Post reported.
The bizarre case began in 2017, when Janette Eileen Solano, 49, filed a domestic complaint with Aurora police against Manzanares claiming she was being pressured for the prior six months to have sex with the dog in a trailer which had been turned into a "sex chamber," an arrest affidavit said.

Solano pleaded guilty in September to one count of misdemeanor animal cruelty.
Solano reportedly told police they had adopted Bubba and Manzanares allegedly began to show her "bestiality videos, bestiality forums, as well as providing her different literature on bestiality," the arrest affidavit said.
She told police Manzanares "sprayed dog hormones around the trailer" to arouse Bubba. Police reportedly found videos of Manzanares and Solano having sex with the dog. She told police he would send her texts at work with a picture of Bubba that said, "He's thinking of you. ;)", the arrest affidavit said. Investigators said they believed Solano had become "somewhat jealous" of Bubba, the affidavit said.
