1 Killed In 4-Vehicle Crash Involving State Vehicle: Police
Three cars and a state vehicle were involved in a serious crash and one person was killed, police said.

PLYMOUTH, CT — One person was killed in a four-vehicle crash involving three cars and a state Department of Transportation truck, police said.
At 3:31 p.m. Tuesday, the Plymouth Police Department responded to the intersection of Poland Brook Road (Route 72) and Bemis Street for a serious motor vehicle accident.
Police found a woman in one of the vehicles that had serious injuries.

"Tragically, the female died while on scene. We will not be releasing the female's identity until her next of kin has been notified. Our hearts ache tonight alongside them," police posted on Facebook.
The Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team and the Connecticut State Police Truck Squad are assisting with the investigation. As of 10:22 p.m., The road has since been reopened.

"We would also like to thank the Terryville Volunteer Fire Department and the Plymouth Volunteer Ambulance Corps for their assistance today," police added.
