2 Storms Forecast To Hit CT This Weekend: New Details On Impacts, Timing

CT will see two storms this weekend, including one that may produce thunderstorms and strong wind gusts. Here are the new details.

CONNECTICUT — If you love rain, then you'll love this forecast.

It's possible Connecticut may see rain drops everyday through next Thursday, according to the latest weather forecast from the National Weather Service. This doesn't mean it will be raining every minute of each day, but some rain is possible during this extended time frame.

The heaviest rain is forecast beginning early Saturday morning and ending early Monday. Connecticut may see thunderstorms late Sunday and early Monday, according to the weather service. More than 2 inches of rain is also possible this weekend.

"Tomorrow could begin dry (if you’re up around sunrise), then showers overspread the state, filling in as the day progresses," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. "Temps only peak in the 50s. The rain continues into the early overnight hours before ending. Sunday, we’ll get a break as temps head back into the 60s. The lull could last into the afternoon before another area of low pressure moves our way. As it ramps up, not only will we get another around of rain, the wind intensifies later Sunday into early Monday."

"The new month of May starts on a wet and windy note," WFSB 3 TV forecasters write. "By Monday afternoon, the rain is over and the sun is out, helping boost temperatures to between 65 and 70. Then, through at least the middle of the week, we’re in an unsettled pattern thanks to another area of low pressure aloft. We’ll see more clouds than sun with scattered showers Tuesday and Wednesday. During this time, it will also unseasonably cool with highs in the 50s! By Thursday, shower chances appear to decrease as temps head back into the lower 60s."
