"Later (Monday), our sky becomes cloudy with rain developing for the afternoon and evening," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists." Temperatures will be between 45 and 50, so this will certainly be just a rain event. Totals end up between 0.25″ and 0.50″, which is beneficial for our ongoing drought situation."

"As a cold front approaches from the west, rain likely develops late (Tuesday) night. The front moves into New England on Wednesday as a wave of low pressure develops along it, keeping it stuck in or near Connecticut the entire day," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.

"The increasing southwest wind will keep CT mild with highs well into the 50s, possibly even reaching the 60 degree mark! The record for the Hartford area is 64 set in 1966. Rain will be heavy at times, perhaps accompanied by some rumbles of thunder! Expect impacts to both commutes Wednesday," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.

"We’ve gone ahead and issued a *First Alert Weather Day* as ponding and low visibility are expected. Some localized poor drainage flooding will be possible in areas that see repeated instances of heavy rain. The semi-frozen ground could result in a bit more runoff compared to normal. Rainfall amounts likely end up over 1″, perhaps up to 3″! Wind gusts will climb into the 20-30 mph range, too. Rain could linger into early Thursday...." said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.
