CT Weather: Heavy Rain Thursday, Very Windy, Cooler Weekend Upcoming
Here are the latest updates on Thursday's storm for Connecticut, including some changes for Friday.

CONNECTICUT — The rain has arrived Thursday morning, and it looks like we'll pick up between 1 and 2 inches of rain before it tapers off late Thursday.
It now appears that most of the precipitation will end Thursday evening instead of lasting into Friday, according to the latest updates.
WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said there will be periods of "moderate to heavier rain" on Thursday.

"Meanwhile, an easterly wind will intensify, with wind gusts 25-35 mph. Given this wind direction, we’ll have to monitor the threat for coastal flooding along our shoreline during the afternoon high tide cycle (up to 1′ of inundation is possible in the usual/prone locations). By the evening commute, the rain tapers to scattered showers. With moderate/severe drought conditions across CT, we certainly need rain. Fortunately, many communities should pick up between 0.5 and 1.0″ of rain, with locally higher amounts possible. While this helps the wildfire risk, we’d need several similar events to make headway when it comes to our drought. But, we’ll at least put a little dent in our growing deficits," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said.
It now appears the storm will wind down Thursday night and some of the precipitation forecast for Friday will not reach us, outside a random rain and or snow shower, WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. However, they caution that if the track changes, more rain would be possible on Friday. (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
