CT Weather: Light Snow Possible Friday Night, Bitter Cold This Weekend

Here are the latest forecast updates for Connecticut through Christmas Eve.

CONNECTICUT — There was talk earlier this week that Connecticut may see some snow on Friday night.

According to the latest forecast updates from the National Weather Service, there is a 40 percent chance of snow showers on Friday night and Saturday in southern Connecticut. In northern Connecticut, the weather service said less than an inch of snow is expected to accumulate there.

"Friday, temperatures top out in the mid to upper 30s under partly sunny skies. A few snow showers are possible in the afternoon, but the latest trends keep anything more significant out to sea. We expect impacts to be minimal, especially with high temperatures above freezing," according to WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).

Before we get to Friday, the forecast features some rain Wednesday afternoon and evening, but it should be sunny and into the mid 40s on Thursday.

The weekend features a blast of Arctic air, with temperatures only rising into the low 30s on Saturday and mid 20s on Sunday. The colder weather sticks around through at least Christmas Eve, according to the National Weather Service.
