Rain, Thunderstorms Emerge Prior To Easter Weekend In CT: New Updates, Timeline

The weather conditions across Connecticut will be rapidly changing over the next several days. Here are the new updates.

CONNECTICUT — First, for the good news. The upcoming holiday weekend weather forecast looks pretty good with sunshine forecast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The only knock on the holiday weekend forecast is that it may be a bit cooler, especially on Saturday, and wind gusts may be strong on Friday.

Before we get to the Easter weekend, Connecticut will be dealing with some changing weather, especially compared to Tuesday's amazing weather which featured sunshine and temperatures around 70 degrees.

It will be mostly cloudy on Wednesday with temperatures dropping into the mid 40s throughout the day and rain showers are expected in the afternoon hours. On Thursday, the forecast calls for more rain showers, but thunderstorms are also possible in the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will soar again near 70 degrees on Thursday.

Once the rain showers, and possibly a thunderstorm conclude late Thursday, that is when the sunny and dry weather takes over through Easter Sunday.

WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said, "For today, expect an abundance of cloud cover with areas of drizzle or isolated showers. Daytime temperatures will also be stuck in the 40s. The front lifts back north late today or early tomorrow, and warmer air will immediately start to push in. By sunrise tomorrow, we could see temperatures already back in the mid 50s!

"We end up solidly in the warm sector again tomorrow, so temperatures really jump. An onshore flow at the coast will keep highs in the mid to upper 60s, with inland towns topping out in the low 70s. It’ll also feel a bit muggy as more moisture moves in. A cold front will move in tomorrow afternoon/evening and with it comes a burst of rain and maybe some rumbles of thunder....Severe weather is not expected in Connecticut at this time," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said.
