Thunderstorms, Days Of Rain And Major Weather Changes On The Way For CT

After weeks of amazing weather, it looks like our luck is about to run out. Here are all the upcoming weather changes for Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — Parts of Connecticut will experience 90 degree temperatures Thursday and Friday and by Saturday high temperatures will struggle to exceed 60 degrees.

There is also a chance for thunderstorms Friday afternoon and night and also on Saturday afternoon. Rain is also possible daily from Friday to Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. While rain is possible from Friday to Wednesday, it doesn't mean each day will be a washout, forecasters said.

It looks like we're going to pay a bit for the long period of amazing weather we've been experiencing the past several weeks.

WFSB 3 TV Meteorologists Mark Dixon and Mike Slifer said Friday "will be the hottest day of this stretch with temps topping out in the lower 90s inland. The record for the Hartford Area is 91 set in 1961 – this one is likely tied or broken! It will again be noticeably cooler along the Sound. Meanwhile, as a cold front begins dropping across New England, an afternoon or evening thunderstorm can’t be ruled out – however, development should be isolated in nature. No severe weather is expected."

"...there will be a chance for scattered showers into Saturday morning. How quickly it departs will dictate how fast we’ll see clearing Saturday afternoon," wrote WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Regardless, behind the front with a northeasterly flow, it will be dramatically cooler with highs only in the low to mid 60s! Sunday once looked dry, but now appears unsettled with an ongoing chance for showers. Again, temps only peak in the 60s...A big change to next week… with an unsettled and cooler than normal pattern setting up. As of now, daily shower chances appear likely. Otherwise, we anticipate a mostly cloudy sky with highs only in the 60s." (Watch the WFSB 3 TV weather forecast here).
