Thunderstorms Timeline Released For Friday, Weekend Forecast Changes For CT
A timeline for thunderstorms Friday has been released, and there are significant changes to the weekend weather forecast for CT.
CONNECTICUT — A lot can change with a weather forecast in 24 hours in New England.
On Thursday, it was thought that days of possible rain were forecast from Friday into the middle of next week, and now that appears much less likely. In fact, sunshine is now forecast for Sunday and Monday.
One thing that hasn't changed regarding the forecast is the chance for some rain and thunderstorms on Friday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service predicts that the best chance of thunderstorms will be after 4 p.m. Friday and up until around daybreak on Saturday. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties saying: "Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop this afternoon, with a few severe storms possible, especially northwest of the I-95 corridor. Strong winds and brief heavy downpours will be the main concern."
There is a 30 percent chance of rain showers on Saturday morning, but the afternoon is looking dry, according to the weather service. Saturday, still looks chilly with high temperatures only into the low to mid 60s, but temperatures do rebound into the 70s on Sunday.

Weather updates from WFSB 3 TV Meteorologists
"It’s almost the end of this abbreviated work week and the end (also peak) of our current warming trend. In advance of a cold front, and under a mostly sunny sky, temperatures this afternoon top out between 90 and 95 inland… to the point records for June 2nd will be challenged....If you’re planning time outside later today or during the evening, keep an eye to the sky...since we expect isolated thunderstorms to develop as a cold front gets closer. Any that pop up will be capable of producing brief downpours, lightning and perhaps some gusty wind; however, we are not anticipating severe weather. As we head toward and past sunset, activity will tend to weaken. Tonight, the front moves into and through CT. Behind it, temperatures drop dramatically for the weekend."
