Town-By-Town Snow Totals Released For CT: How Much Did You Get On New Year's Day?

Below are the latest unofficial snowfall totals as provided by the National Weather Service for the Jan. 1, 2026 storm.

Forecasters got this mini-snow-storm correct by accurately predicting that communities in the eastern part of the state would receive the most snow accumulation.

Several communities in New London and Tolland counties recorded three inches or more of snow, according to the National Weather Service. (See the full list below as reported by the National Weather Service).

Many areas in Connecticut reported a dusting of new snow accumulation, which fell on top of last weekend's significant snowfall.

"We rang in the New Year with a bit of snow across CT as a quick-moving clipper system moved through," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "The bulk of the snow has already moved out, but there is the possibility of a few lingering, brief snow showers this morning. Most spots picked up about 1-3″ of fluffy accumulation as a result."

New Year's Day looks dry but very, very cold.

"Temperatures will peak between 25 and 30 in the morning, falling throughout the afternoon. Wind gusts will ramp up as a cold front moves through, perhaps exceeding 35mph in the afternoon. With sustained wind speeds above 15mph, this will lead to afternoon wind chills between -5 and 10. Dress accordingly if you’re headed out this New Year’s Day!" said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.

Weekend forecast details

Some flurries are possible Sunday morning, but cold weather persists and it will be largely dry, WFSB 3 TV said.

Next week forecast details
