2nd Grade Teacher Barbara Dittmar, 58, Passed Away
A Celebration of Life service for Barbara will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel.
Barbara J. Dittmar, 58, of Sandy Hook, CT went home to JESUS on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.
She was born in Camden, NJ to Donald and Jean Lobach on May 21,1958. Barbara graduated from Concordia College, Bronxville, NY and received a BA in Elementary Education.
She was married to Daniel P. Dittmar on April 9, 1983 and they lived in Pennsauken, NJ before relocating to CT in 1993. Barbara was a second grade teacher and taught in the parochial school system in NJ and CT for over 20 years. She was passionate about teaching children and sharing the joy of knowing Jesus.

Barbara was an active member of Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel, CT. She loved serving the church, preparing communion, and praising the Lord. She had a heart for worship and loving children and friends in her community. She enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to music, trail walking with her husband, reading and decorating her home.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Daniel, her two sons, Joshua and his wife, Meghan, of Shelton, CT and Peter and his wife, Maggie, of Newtown, CT. She is also survived by her parents, Donald and Jean Lobach of Medford, NJ, her two sisters, Terri Burke and her husband, Bill, of Hingham, MA and Jennifer Knopple and her husband, Tommy, of Marlton, NJ. Barbara was a loving sister-inlaw as well as an aunt to her wonderfully fun nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life service for Barbara on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00am at Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel, CT.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road, Bethel, CT 06801.
