David Thompson, 80, Field Archeologist Who Taught at Quinnipiac

Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday.

David Hall Thompson, age 80, beloved husband of 45 years to Barbara (Brophy) Thompson of Bethany, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at his home.

He was born on May 20, 1934 in New Haven and was the son of the late Curtiss Keith and Eunice (Hall) Thompson. Mr. Thompson graduated from The Gunnery, received his Bachelor’s Degree from Beloit College, and his Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a Field Archaeologist and excavated in the Southwest and Connecticut and also taught at Quinnipiac College for many years. Mr. Thompson was Past President of the former Greater New Haven Archeological Society and a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Bethany.

In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by his loving children, Andrew, Brian, Daniel, Helen Elizabeth, and Gregory Thompson and his wife Amy, and his loving granddaughters, Lily Scarlet, Lincoln Summer, and London Rose Thompson. He was predeceased by his brother, Keith Thompson.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 20 at 11:30 a.m. (directly) at the Christ Episcopal Church, Bethany, followed by an interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven.

Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour.
