Woodbridge Running Company had one of its busiest weeks of the year last week, according to employee Leah Vogel (pictured above).
The rush experienced last week doesn't usually happen in May, says Vogel. It's usually in March when colleges and high schools need gear for track, she says.
Vogel attributed the recent surge to runners waiting for temperatures to rise.
Running shoes were the main driver of sales last week, Vogel said.
She said it's important runners get new shoes every 300 to 500 miles or about every six months if you run an average of 20 miles a week.
Woodbridge Running Company opened up in town about 12 years ago. There are also stores in Brookfield and North Hampton.
