Rep. Zupkus Volunteers for Bethany Junior Achievement Program

From Rep. Zupkus: State Rep. Lezlye Zupkus (R-89) participated in Junior Achievement Day at Bethany Community School on Friday. The event, hosted by Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, teaches elementary school students financial literacy and is delivered by volunteers from businesses and the community.

“This program was a fun and exciting way to teach students about financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship,” said Rep. Zupkus. “Teaching K-6 grade students about financial responsibility at an early age will not only prepare them for the workforce, but will also set them up for a successful life.”

According to Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, the Elementary School Program (ESP) operates in public, parochial and private schools in the Southwest Connecticut area. This five-session program is offered to students in kindergarten through sixth grade and is taught by business volunteers, retirees andparents.
