Arrest information supplied by the Woodbridge Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Two 23-year-old men face marijuana charges following a May 3 motor vehicle stop where Woodbridge police allegedly found several bags of pot in the car.

Steven Berkowitz of Woodbridge and Nicholas Agata of New Haven are both charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy.

Police said they picked up on the smell of marijuana after stopping Berkowitz and Agata at the intersection of Johnson and Ansonia Road on the evening of May 3.

An arrest report does not specify who was driving.

Berkowitz allegedly admitted to smoking pot earlier with Agata and a subsequent search of the car reportedly yielded “a gallon sized zip-lock bag of marijuana in the trunk, bags of marijuana in Berkowitz’s pocket, other bags of marijuana in the glove box, along with packaging materials.”

Both men were released after posting $5,000 bond and were scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court May 15.
