102-Year-Old Veteran Seeks Jazzy Scooter to Continue Social, Active Lifestyle
Brookfield's Handy Dandy Handyman is looking for a scooter to help a Danbury veteran continue to do what he loves— get out and about.
BROOKFELD, CT — The Handy Dandy Handyman is at it again. This time, he's helping a 102-year-old stay jazzy. Peter Brady, founder and self-proclaimed "Bossman" of the Brookfield-based nonprofit is requesting monetary donations and/or a power-driven scooterto allow a 102-year-old Danbury veteran stay active and social.
"Roger [is] delighted to be with new friends as of last month. While his hands do not work as well as they did, and he struggles to move his manual wheel chair with one foot. He was devastated when at 99 he was asked to forgo driving his car,"Brady said.
"A good day for Roger is when his daughter, a Handy Dandy Handyman volunteer, takes her dad to either Home Depot or Costco to enable him some additional socializing with any one who will listen, and he loves it," Brady shared.

Brady said that Roger tries to get to Costco at lunch time "so he can scoot around to all the sample stations for an appetizer or enough for his lunch. He is a wonderful young man with many good times ahead of him only if we can help him."
Handy Dandy Handyman is seeking a "Jazzy Scooter" or any power-driven scooter to allow Roger to visit with his friends at the Veterans' home. To donate to this cause, click here.
