Brookfield's Former GOP Registrar Suing Town for $65,000 in Legal Fees: Report
The case of whether the Town of Brookfield should pay for former GOP registrar Tom Dunkerton's legal fees could head to trial next summer.
BROOKFIELD, CT — A trial to decide whether the Town of Brookfield should pay the legal bills of former Republican registrar of voters Thomas Dunkerton is scheduled for June of 2017, the News Times reports.
Attorney Ward Mazzuco has billed the town to represent Dunkerton, who claimed that Jane Miller was not a good faith Republican when she ran for the Board of Finance. First Selectman Steve Dunn believed the squabble is a Republican party matter, not a town one, and he refuses to pay the legal fees.
